Law of Odds
GCSE #Physics Trying out measuring acceleration using bells and a cart travelling down a @pasco.scientific track using our 3D printed bells and a sound sensor since a water clock didn't work well because my reaction times were too slow. The sparkvue software which is free on Android and IOS gave some very good results. #iteachphysics #science #stem

garlic and mint as anti-microbial agents
Some success with our A level #microbiology #biology practical looking at garlic and mint as anti-microbial agents. 1 out of 8 worked - Under identical conditions the bugs do as they please. #science #STEM One of the discs Garlic managed a 1.5cm ring of lysed bacteria.

Aseptic Technique
Teaching A level #microbiology My student had to made up the Nutrient broth and make all the Agar plates before she could start the experiment. Much of this is learning aseptic technique. Hopefully all her plates will be clean to start the expt tomorrow. #teaching
