magnetic field viewing film
Using magnetic field viewing film from https://magnametals.co.uk to show the magnetic fields produced by a magnetic without having to use all those messy iron filings. The film is great made from a green flexible sheet coated with micro capsules containing nickel flakes suspended in oil.

Ready for Microbiology
Something I haven't done for a while - Microbiology with my A level Biology students. All the equipment has now arrived, so we can soon start sterilising ( the autoclave was too big for the photos) making up broth and agar plates, practising aseptic technique and starting to grow some E Coli then we can test them with Mint and Garlic to see if they like the food as much as I do! #microbiology #teaching #teachingkids

Density
Measuring Mass and Volume to calculate the Density of different materials. Looking at GCSE #Physics to compare the ease of solids liquids and irregular shaped objects to determine their densities. The mass of a block of tungsten shocks the students. #iteachphysics

My renewable Energy News
The CO2 from the fermentation of just one six pack of beer takes a tree two full days to absorb. Young Henrys have developed a system to use microalgae to produce oxygen from this. https://myrenewableenergy.org/News.html July 7th #ClimateAction #beer
Investigating Capacitors at A Level
Trying out some A level #Physics experiments to understand the properties of capacitors, changing the size, dielectric, distance between plates and voltage. Having Fun #iteachphysics #teaching
